The Sun Belt Conference will partner with XOS Technologies to bring instant replay to all conference’s men’s and women’s basketball games beginning with the 2009-10 season. In the past, conference schools used the video board feed to view replays.

Officials reviewed a live demonstration of the system during the conference tournament, when it was used to confirm that a two-point attempt had actually been a three-pointer. Sun Belt Associate Commissioner for Communications John McElwain said the live demonstration was used to show officials and the league's coordinator of officials how the system would work. The demonstration left a good impression with most people, he said.

“We saw that this flexible and easy-to-use tool was able to meet the rigorous demands of a fast-paced and hugely important game,” said Commissioner Wright Waters. “We’re confident that when our players take the court next season, the XOS Basketball Replay System will give the officiating crew the most advanced resources available to preserve the integrity of the game and reward our student-athletes’ hard work on the floor.”

The conference joined several other leagues in using the system for football in 2006. The Western Athletic Conference uses XOS Technologies for basketball.
