The Division IA Athletics Directors Association recently named Missouri Athletics Director Mike Alden as the organization’s next president.

He succeeds South Carolina’s Eric Hyman.

“This is a great honor, and something I feel is a positive reflection of the University of Missouri as a whole, and all of the great work and achievements that are taking place here across the board,” Alden said.

Other officers include: first vice president Dan Guerrero, athletics director at UCLA, and second vice president Brad Bates, athletics director at Miami (Ohio).

In addition to his duties at Missouri, Alden also has been a member of the AD association’s Institute Faculty for eight years.

“Mike Alden has displayed excellent leadership ability throughout his career, and the association will benefit from his influence and guidance,” said Executive Director Dutch Baughman.

Alden is in his 12th year at Missouri. His term ends September 2010.
