It took the longest game in school and conference history, but the Wayne State (Michigan) women’s ice hockey team gave coach Jim Fetter his 100th career victory earlier this month when the Warriors beat Robert Morris, 4-3, in overtime during the College Hockey America semifinals.

The team lost in the conference championship to Mercyhurst. Fetter’s overall record stands at 100-84-18 in six seasons with Wayne State. He was an assistant at Mercyhurst and Maine before joining the Warriors staff.

The semifinal game’s regulation period ended after Wayne State’s Melissa Boal scored a power-play goal with 35 seconds remaining to knot the score at three. Natalie Payne scored the game-winner at the 15:04 mark in overtime.
