Georgia State recently launched a new panther logo as part of a rebranding effort for the athletics department.

The logo was unveiled during the school’s “Countdown to Touchdown” event, held exactly one year before the Panthers play their first football game September 2, 2010.

The “Pounce” logo was made more lifelike and fierce. The panther is perched above a red, white and blue “Georgia State.” The football helmets will feature a GSU logo with a red underscore on a blue background.

“With the exposure that football is generating, this was the perfect time to update our marks and create a dynamic overall identity for Georgia State athletics,” said Athletics Director Cheryl Levick. “We think our students, alumni and fans will be proud to show off these new looks.”
