Ferguson hits 600 wins

Delaware softball coach B.J. Ferguson won her 600th career game April 22 when the Blue Hens swept Army in a doubleheader, 3-1 and 7-6. Ferguson, in her 29th season with Delaware, now holds a 601-551-7 career record.

Ferguson is the 43rd Division I coach to reach the milestone. In her time at Delaware, she has guided the Blue Hens to two East Coast Conference titles and the 2004 Colonial Athletic Association tournament championship game.

A graduate of Springfield College, Ferguson is also an associate professor in Delaware’s College of Health and Nursing Sciences. She also held positions in athletics administration (compliance) and as women’s tennis coach for a time.
