Following is a summary of Division I news from the week of March 2-6.

•         The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference hopes to add two new members in the near future. The presidents lifted a membership moratorium after Commissioner Dennis Thomas and member institutions constructed a strategic plan for the league’s future.

•         The Championships Cabinet  wants to continue to provide top-tier experiences for student-athletes and fans at championships while also developing new strategies for diversifying revenue and increasing corporate support.

•         The Colonial Athletic Association will use money from a Virginia Tourism Corporation grant to promote championships held in the state. The grant will help attract fans to the men’s and women’s swimming and diving, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s tennis and wrestling championships, all in Virginia this year.

•         Participants for the annual Frozen Four Skills Challenge were announced. The event will be April 10 at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C.
