Following is a summary of Division I news from the week of October 5-9.

  • The Division I Leadership Council moved closer to finalizing a set of membership standards to be vetted by the governance structure. Among the recommendations are a residency period in Division II and a fee structure for new members.
  • The Administration Cabinet will develop a Web-based presentation to help explain the Division I committee-selection process, along with the legislative requirements for serving on committees and cabinets.
  • Princeton administrator Michael Cross operates a blog that keeps tabs on budget decisions at Division I athletics departments all over the country. Cross said that Ultimate Sports Insider, who has served on a number of NCAA committees, aims to be both helpful and entertaining.
  • The seating arrangement at the 2010 Men’s Frozen Four will change to provide a better experience for fans.
