Following is a recap of Division I news from the week of September 7-11.

  • The Division I Legislative Council will consider a proposal that would limit to 28 the number of Football Bowl Subdivision student-athletes who may sign a National Letter of Intent or an institutional offer of financial aid from the first signing day through May 31.
  • Georgia State unveiled a new logo as part of rebranding effort for its athletics department. The school released the new logos exactly one year before the Panthers play their first football game.
  • The West Coast Conference gained a title sponsor for the league’s men’s and women’s basketball tournaments: Zappos.com. The online shoe and apparel company also will make charitable donations as part of the partnership.
