DI SAAC announces nine new members

The Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee recently welcomed new members whose terms begin this month. Click on the links for biographical information:

Norah Swanson, Big East Conference, soccer, Georgetown

Natalia Maria Christenson, Ivy Group, tennis, Columbia

Eugene Daniels, Mountain West Conference, football, Colorado State

Lauren Chapman, Northeast Conference, golf, Fairleigh Dickinson

Jonathan Hackett, Pacific-10 Conference, volleyball, Southern California

Matthew Horn, Big South Conference, soccer, Winthrop

Natalie Hemphill, West Coast Conference, cross country, Portland

“We are very excited about the appointment of these members and what they can bring to national SAAC in the coming years,” said Matt Baysinger (Big 12), current chair of the Division I SAAC. “Their diverse backgrounds and experiences will help expand the perspective of our committee when looking at student-athlete issues.”

Several student-athletes described being selected to serve as an “honor and a privilege.”

“Being a member of the DI SAAC is an unbelievable opportunity not only to represent the opinions and values of Ivy League student-athletes, but also to enhance my understanding of the collegiate athletics experience by communicating with athletes from other conferences,” said Columbia’s Natalie Maria Christenson.
