Committee nominations sought

Several NCAA committees are seeking Division I nominees, including the Sportsmanship and Ethical Conduct, Men’s and Women’s Fencing, Women’s Gymnastics, Men’s and Women’s Skiing, Baseball Rules, Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey Rules and Division I Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Committees.

All nominees must be submitted through conference offices by March 27. All terms would begin in September 2009.

The committee vacancies are as follows:

•         Committee on Sportsmanship and Ethical Conduct: a Division I member from any subdivision.

•         Men’s and Women’s Fencing: Any division or subdivision is eligible, but the appointee must be from the Midwest region and can represent men’s or women’s fencing interests. The appointee can be a coach or administrator. Eligible Division I institutions are Cleveland State, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Northwestern.

•         Women’s Gymnastics: a Division I member from any subdivision, must be from the West region and may be a coach or administrator. Eligible Division I institutions are Boise State, Cal State Fullerton, Sacramento State, California, UC Davis, UCLA, Oregon State, San Jose State, Stanford and Washington.

•         Men’s and Women’s Skiing: Appointee can be from any division or subdivision and any region. The appointee may be a coach or administrator.

•         Baseball Rules: Appointee must be from the Division I subdivision.

•         Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey Rules: Three vacancies from any subdivision, two of which must be coaches. Two appointees must represent women’s ice hockey interests.

•         Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving: The appointee must represent diving, with a preference for a diving coach.
