Ohio head baseball coach Joe Carbone won his 600th game April 11 when the Bobcats earned a 6-4 victory over Eastern Michigan. Carbone joins former Western Michigan coach Fred Decker as the only Mid-American Conference coaches to win 600 career games.

In his 21st season coaching at his alma mater, Carbone has compiled a career record of 601-510-2.

“I’ve had a bunch of outstanding student-athletes and assistant coaches, especially (former associate head coach) Bil Toadvine, who have helped get (me to the milestone),” Carbone said. “I appreciate everything all the coaches, graduate assistants and student-athletes who ever played or coached here at Ohio University have done for this program.”

The Bobcats had to come from behind twice to get the victory, taking the lead for good in the eighth inning.
