The Big East will send a football team to the Meineke Car Care Bowl through 2013, Commissioner John Marinatto recently announced. The bowl has the conference’s third selection.

The conference has been aligned with the bowl, operated by Raycom Sports, since 2002. The game is played at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, and matches the Big East team with the sixth selection from the Atlantic Coast Conference. In 2008, West Virginia defeated North Carolina, 31-30.
