The Army men’s lacrosse team won its 700th game in program history in its 2009 season opener, becoming the fifth team to reach the milestone. The Black Knights defeated VMI, 17-3, February 14.

Johns Hopkins (882), Syracuse (777), Navy (729) and Hobart (713) all have tallied more than 700 wins. Army reached 700 wins in the opening game of its 92nd season.

“I was happy to be a part of this great program’s 700th victory,” said Army head coach Joe Alberici. “The way our guys played today was just a reflection of Army lacrosse and really shined a light on all the great players and teams that have been associated with this program throughout its history.”

Jason Peyer scored six goals in the victory, while Jeremy Boltus and Rob McCallion scored two apiece.
