The Honda Center in Anaheim, California, will host the Big West Conference men’s and women’s basketball tournaments beginning in 2011. The tournaments will remain at the venue through 2015.

The Big West hosted Division I Men’s Basketball Championship regional competitions at the Honda Center in 1998, 2001 and 2003 and first- and second-round games in 2008. The pair will team up again for the 2011 men’s West regional.

“The Big West and Honda Center have developed a strong relationship over the years, and this is a great opportunity for our student-athletes to play in a building that has hosted five NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship preliminary-round events over the last decade,” said Commissioner Dennis Farrell.

The Big West men’s tournament dates back to 1976, when the conference was known as the Pacific Coast Athletic Association. The Anaheim Convention Center Arena, home to the conference championships since 2001, will host the 2010 tournaments.
