2010 lacrosse quarterfinals to be at Stony Brook, Princeton

The NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Committee has selected Princeton and Stony Brook to host the 2010 Division I Men’s Lacrosse Championship quarterfinal rounds on May 22 or 23.

Stony Brook will host two quarterfinal games at LaValle Stadium in Stony Brook, New York, while Powers Field at Princeton Stadium will host two quarterfinal match-ups in Princeton, New Jersey.

The Division I Men’s Lacrosse Championship consists of eight first-round game at campus sites, followed by the quarterfinals, this year at Stony Brook and Princeton. The 2010 semifinals and final are at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore on May 29 and 31. Johns Hopkins, Towson and Loyola (Maryland) are the host institutions.

Navy and Hofstra hosted last year’s quarterfinal rounds.

“We are pleased that Stony Brook and Princeton have agreed to host the NCAA men’s lacrosse quarterfinals,” said Sharon Cessna, NCAA director of championships. “With their proven track record for putting on such great events, we are excited for a great lacrosse weekend in locations.”
