The Big Ten Conference launched the “Get to Know Her” campaign last week, a promotion for its women’s basketball programs. The campaign introduces fans to student-athletes off the court through multimedia methods and on-campus promotions.

The campaign also includes a fan club, theme nights, a weekly newsletter, public service announcements produced by the Big Ten Network, feature stories for video and print, and a Facebook page.

Fans can join the Get to Know Her club at the conference’s women’s basketball home games. Rewards of membership include special access, giveaways and insider information on Big Ten women’s basketball. The Big Ten Web site, www.bigten.cstv.com, will feature stories on women’s basketball players throughout the season and the Big Ten Network will air feature stories and public service announcements.

The campaign is funded in part by an NCAA grant program to promote the growth of women’s basketball.
