Marshall’s men’s and women’s basketball teams will get new locker rooms and team meeting rooms, the school announced. Construction is set to begin before the end of the year.

The 3,100 square-foot locker rooms will be situated under the south stands in Cam Henderson Center. The project is expected to cost around $2 million and will be paid for through ticket sales, a facility enhancement fee and private donations.

The locker rooms will include theater film rooms, lounges, kitchens and large storage areas.

“This project will help our men’s and women’s basketball programs in being more competitive in Conference USA,” Athletics Director Bob Marcum said. “It is a continued effort to improve our venues to make us more competitive in the conference. We all know that new facilities can assist in recruiting efforts.”
