         A subcommittee of the Committee on Infractions says it will likely be ready to present recommendations to the full committee from its study of the penalty structure. Once the full infractions committee has the opportunity to review the suggested changes to the process, committee Chair Josephine Potuto, faculty athletics representative at Nebraska, said the recommendations will be presented to the appropriate governance bodies to receive full membership review. The committee meets next month.

         The West Coast Conference named Princeton Associate Athletics Director Jamie Zaninovich (left) as its second full-time commissioner. Zaninovich replaces Michael Gilleran, who will retire in May after 24 years leading the league. Zaninovich, who holds degrees from Stanford, has experience on the NCAA Committee on Women’s Athletics.

         NACDA bestowed its highest honor, the James J. Corbett Memorial Award, on former Florida State athletics director Dave Hart Jr. Hart, a past NACDA president, is serving as a consultant to the Atlantic Coast Conference. He will receive the award at NACDA’s annual convention in June.

         Colorado named Nancy Hogshead-Makar as a special Title IX consultant. A former NCAA and Olympic athlete, Hogshead-Makar will work with the athletics department, general counsel and chancellor’s office to review university policies regarding sexual violence and harassment. She is expected to begin her work with the school in April.
