Dartmouth Director of Sports Information Kathleen Slattery Phillips died November 21 after a brain aneurysm.

After graduation from Syracuse in 1974, Phillips was a reporter for the Manchester Union Leader and New Hampshire Sunday News before heading to Dartmouth as assistant sports information director in 1977.

Phillips never left Hanover, assuming the position of sports information director in 1983 and holding it for the past 24 years.

The second female sports information director in the Ivy League, Phillips was responsible for all phases of communications relating to Dartmouth’s 34 varsity teams.
