MARCH


Division I Baseball

March 1-April 8: Contact/evaluation period.
April 9-12: Dead period.
April 13-August 31: Contact/evaluation period.

Division I Men’s Basketball

October 6, 2006-March 28: Evaluation period (except for dead periods November 6-9 and December 24-26, and a contact period March 16-22). All live evaluations during the academic year (except during the April contact period) shall be limited to regularly scheduled high school, preparatory school and two-year college contests/tournaments, practices and regular scholastic activities involving student-athletes enrolled only at that institution).

From the Thursday before the Men’s Division I Basketball Championship until noon on the  Thursday after the championship: Dead period.

Division I  Women’s Basketball

September 16, 2006-April 17 (note exceptions below): Evaluation period. Women’s basketball staff members shall not exceed 85 recruiting-person days. A recruiting-person day is defined as one coach engaged in an off-campus recruiting activity of a women’s basketball prospect on one day; two coaches engaged in recruiting activities on the same day shall use two recruiting days. Those days from September 16-April 17 not designated for contact or evaluation purposes: Quiet period.

Exceptions:
December 24-26, 2006: Dead period.
March 1-29: Contact period.
March 30-April 12: Dead period, except for one women’s basketball event certified by the NCAA held in conjunction with and conducted in the host city of the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship (evaluation period) and April 6-8, 2007 (quiet period).

Division II Men’s Basketball

March 1-28: Contact period.

March 29-April 3 (noon): Evaluation shall be permitted at any all-star contest held during the final weekend of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship in the host city.

April 3 (noon)-April 9 (7 a.m.): Contact period.
April 9 (7 a.m.)-April 11 (7 a.m.): Dead period.
April 11 (7 a.m.)-May 14: Contact period.

Division II  Women’s Basketball

March 1 through 30 days after the Saturday after the initial date for the spring signing of the National Letter of Intent. Exception:
During the period 48 hours before 7 a.m. on the initial date for the spring signing of the National Letter of Intent: Dead period.

Division I Football

February 9-April 14: Quiet period.

Division II Football

December 1, 2006-March 12: Contact period.
March 13-April 14: Quiet period.

Division I Men’s Lacrosse

January 4-April 8: Contact/evaluation period.
April 9-12: Dead period.
April 13-May 24: Contact/evaluation period.

Division I  Women’s Lacrosse

January 2-April 8: Contact/evaluation period.
April 9-12: Dead period.
April 13-May 24: Contact/evaluation period.
Division I Softball
January 2-April 8: Contact/evaluation period.
April 9-12: Dead period.
April 13-May 28: Contact/evaluation period.
May 29-June 7 (noon): Dead period.
June 7 (noon)-July 31: Contact/evaluation period.

Division I  Women’s Volleyball

January 13-April 8: Contact/evaluation period.
April 9-12: Dead period.
April 13-30: Contact/evaluation period.
May 1-25: Quiet period.
May 26-July 31: Contact/evaluation period.

(Note: The February 12 issue included an incorrect dead period in the recruiting calendar for women’s volleyball. The information listed above is correct.)
