The Methodist women’s golf team brought dominance to a new level May 8-11, winning its 10th consecutive Division III national championship  and 11th overall with its most lopsided victory yet.

The Monarchs needed just 1,215 strokes to win the Division III crown, topping second-place DePauw by an all-divisions record 88 strokes at the Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. Last spring, Methodist won the national title by 76 strokes.

Junior Katie Dick shot a 4-over-par 296 for the tournament, claiming her first individual NCAA championship. She birdied three holes on the back nine during her final round to solidify the win. Dick finished seven strokes ahead of teammate Charlotte Williams. Senior Heather Martin came in fourth overall with a 14-over-par 306 and Emily Ranney was sixth, shooting 22-over par for the championship.

DePauw shot a final-round 319 to earn its best finish in the golf championships with a four-round team score of 1303. The Tigers have finished among the top three in each of the last five championships.

Sarah Gates, who finished her career at DePauw as a four-time all-American, finished seventh overall with a 315.  Kristin Kreigshauser was 10th overall with a 321 and Ali Murtagh tied for 23rd with a 330.

Gustavus Adolphus finished third in the overall standings, just off its second-place showing one year ago. Sophomore Kimbra Kosak finished the tournament fifth overall with a 22-over-par 314.

Katie Tewell was the lone golfer representing Franklin at the tournament, but the junior certainly made her mark on the field. Tewell earned all-America honors with a 13-over-par 305 to finish third overall.

A pair of St. Thomas (Minnesota) golfers catapulted the program to a fifth-place finish with strong individual performances. Junior Holly Noble finished eighth overall with a 24-over-par 316, while freshman teammate Laura Heck had a 29-over-par 321. St. Thomas finished three strokes behind fourth-place Southwestern (Texas).
