Making a fund-raising splash — The Ohio Northern University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams accomplished three goals with victories over Baldwin-Wallace College in a battle of league unbeatens on Senior Day at the ONU Sports Center. The Polar Bears won the both of the Ohio Athletic Conference regular-season titles with perfect 4-0 records, the squads captured the Golden Kickboard Awards from their rivals, and most importantly, raised $1,200 for Cystic Fibrosis. “Cystic Fibrosis has touched our program personally at Ohio Northern,” said head coach Peggy Ewald. “We have a team member who was diagnosed as a young child, and he took up swimming as an activity to stay fit and healthy with much success. He completed his swimming career as a four-year letter-winner. Giving back to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation was just a natural fit for us.”
