Division III thinks pink for a day —
Numerous Division III institutions participated in an initiative sponsored by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association during the last weekend in January to show support for coaches who are battling cancer. The crew at Millikin University’s scoring table (above) and fans joined players and coaches from Millikin and opponent North Park College in the effort. Many other institutions — including Rowan University (left), which collected $350 in donations for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, as well as Chatham College, Randolph-Macon College, Thiel College and the University of Maine, Farmington — reported activities to support the program. In most cases, teams donned pink warm-ups, T-shirts or other attire to demonstrate support.
