Buzz ball —
The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, baseball team conducted a “Cuts for Cure” program after a doubleheader with Duke University April 14 to raise money to fight cancer. The premise of the program was that every North Carolina player agreed to shave his head if the team reached its goal of raising at least $100 per team member. Thanks to the generosity of Carolina fans, the project raised $4,020 in only three weeks. The money will benefit the North Carolina Children’s Hospital. If the team raises an additional $1,000, the entire coaching staff has agreed to go bald as well.
