2006 (May 28-June1) — The NCAA Leadership Conference celebrates its 10th anniversary, and for the first time, professional development is an integral part of the curriculum.

10 years ago
1997 (May) — The Lynn University women’s tennis and women’s golf teams capture national championships in the school’s first year of Division II competition. Lynn’s Zoe Grimbeek also earns the individual title after holding off a late charge from defending champion Shanna Nagy of Florida Southern College.

15 years ago
1992 (June) — Graduation rates for Division I institutions are released publicly for the first time as a result of NCAA and federal legislation. Each Division I institution and conference receives a two-page report summarizing the specific institution’s graduation-rate information and a book compiling graduation-rate data for each individual Division I member institution.

1992 (June) — The Palm Beach (Florida) Sports Authority, Inc., establishes the Lou Groza Collegiate Place Kicker Award to be awarded annually to the top collegiate place kicker in the nation beginning with the 1992 season.

20 years ago
1987 — The NCAA begins awarding ethnic minority enhancement postgraduate scholarships to enhance opportunities for ethnic minorities in coaching, athletics administration and officiating.

25 years ago
1982 (May 24-29) — Abilene Christian University wins the first of 14 Division II Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships between 1982 and 2004, including seven straight from 1982 to 1988 under head coach Don Hood.
