Schoening joins national office staff

nullThe NCAA national office has hired Damon Schoening as a director of brand strategies and events working in the branding and communications group.

Schoening will help oversee the administration and operation of several NCAA events, including the Association’s annual Convention, the annual Woman of the Year awards dinner, the Honors Celebration and championship ancillary events.

Schoening also will help oversee the NCAA Hall of Champions and the national office’s community-relations programs.

He joins the NCAA after a 10-year career with GMAC Residential Funding Corporation in Minneapolis. He spent the last year with ResCap (Residential Capital Holdings), also in Minneapolis. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mass communication and journalism from Winona State University in 1990.
