The NCAA News will launch an upgraded online career resource center September 21 that will significantly enhance the leading job-posting site within intercollegiate athletics.

The improved version of the NCAA Market will offer all of the features provided through the current site while also providing exciting new opportunities, such as resumé posting.

Other improvements include:
  • A better resumé search function.
  • Auto-notification of employment matches (automatic notices to advertisers of resumés that fit their job descriptions).
  • More opportunities for customers to manage their postings, including renewing or discontinuing ads.
  • Job activity tracking (for example, reports that show the number of individuals who have viewed a job and applied online or how many times a posting was forwarded via e-mail).
“We believe we already offer the best job-posting site in intercollegiate athletics, but these new features will take this service to an entirely new level,” said David Pickle, NCAA managing director of publishing.

The Market will be available through the “Employment” tab at the upper-right corner of the front page of NCAA Online. The new system will require users to register and then use a password to reaccess the site for subsequent visits.

The new site will feature pricing that will be advantageous to most users. A basic ad will cost $200 for 30 days, about 40 percent less than the current price. All ads will be based on 30-day increments.

In addition, frequent advertisers will be able to pre-purchase packages of advertisements at discounted rates. For example, if an institution anticipates that it will post 10 ads over the next year, it may purchase a 10-advertisement collection at a 20 percent discount. That arrangement would cost the advertiser only $1,600 rather than the $2,000 that would have been spent had the ads been purchased one at a time. Smaller discounts will be available for packages covering five (15 percent) and three (10 percent) advertisements.

Payment will be required by credit cards since the NCAA no longer will invoice customers for this service. Individuals who have used a bookmark to access the site will have to revisit create a new bookmark.

A toll-free help line for the service will be available on the Market page when it goes live September 21.
