Hofstra named Krista Kilburn-Steveskey as head coach. Kilburn-Steveskey, who previously served as associate head coach at James Madison, is the 11th head coach in Hofstra women’s basketball history.

She replaces Felisha Legette-Jack, who resigned April 19 to take over the Indiana program

Kilburn-Steveskey takes over a team that returns four starters and is coming off its first-ever Division I postseason appearance. Hofstra finished 19-12 in 2005-06, compiling the second-most wins in school history, and advanced to the first round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament after defeating Stony Brook in the preliminary round.

During her four-year tenure at James Madison, Kilburn-Steveskey coordinated recruiting and scheduling, and was involved in all other facets of the program. The Dukes won 42 games in her last two seasons and earned a bid to this season’s WNIT.

Before her time in Harrisonburg, Kilburn-Steveskey spent six years as a coach at Wheeler High School, compiling a 143-38 record.
