Long Beach State named Gavin Arroyo as head men’s water polo coach.

For the past three years, Arroyo has been an assistant coach at California. He also was an assistant coach with the U.S. Men’s Senior National Team in 2005.

As a member of the U.S. National Team from 1993 to 2000, Arroyo competed in the 1996 and 2000 Olympic Games. He also helped the United States capture world championships in 1994 and 1998 as well as the 1997 FINA Cup and two Pan American Games titles. In addition, he played professionally overseas in Greece and Spain.

Arroyo was a first team all-American and a part of three national championship teams at California, where he graduated with a degree in political science in 1994.
