NCAA Double-A Zone

Sep 11, 2006 1:01:30 AM

The Double-A Zone introduced a new feature recently that will allow the NCAA’s official blog to address more topics on a daily basis.

Morning Coffee offers a glance around the world of intercollegiate athletics each day. The feature looks back at NCAA history, provides commentary on games and issues in all three divisions and gives member institutions an opportunity to celebrate the positive things happening each day on their campuses.

Mondays With Myles, the Double-A Zone’s weekly podcast with NCAA President Myles Brand, returned August 28 after a summer hiatus. In the first podcast, President Brand answered five controversial questions submitted by a blogger. The Double-A Zone will continue to make President Brand accessible on a weekly basis, presenting a unique opportunity for student-athletes, administrators and fans to communicate with him.

Bridget Belgiovine discussed her eight years at the national office on a Faces of the NCAA podcast. Belgiovine, the director of Division III, recently accepted a position as director of athletics and chair of physical education, recreation and athletics at Wellesley College.

There were a number of interesting conversations on the Double-A Zone last week, including a discussion about Northeastern State University and its changing nickname. Bloggers also weighed in on text messaging and football’s 12th game.

The NCAA’s official blog can be found at http://www.doubleazone.com. To find out how to submit a guest post, contact Josh Centor (jcentor@ncaa.org).
