Miscellaneous: The Adams State College athletics department recently launched its new Web site. The new site -- www.ascgrizzlies.com -- will be the official source for all happenings within the Adams State athletics department. "We are very excited about the upgrade and the new design of this site," said Chris Day, associate athletics director. "Although we were pleased with the old site, we needed a change and we believe that this will provide fans with an informative, interactive and sharp-looking portal into the Grizzly athletics department" ... Stonehill College recently unveiled a new athletics logo to go with its new mascot, the "Skyhawks." The logo, which depicts a mythical bird of flight dressed in classic attire of pilots of early aircraft, was completed after a three-month process by Phoenix Design Works of New York City. "The introduction of the Skyhawk signals a new chapter in the history of athletics at the college," said Rev. Mark T. Cregan, Stonehill president. "The Skyhawk will undoubtedly create excitement on our campus."

Conferences: Lone Star Conference Commissioner Fred Jacoby was recognized at a Texas Rangers baseball game recently as part of the club's Organ Donor Awareness festivities. Jacoby was at home plate at Ameriquest Field July 22 for a pregame ceremony in which he was presented an award from the Southwest Transplant Alliance, which co-hosted the Rangers' 11th annual organ-donor event. The award recognized Jacoby's productive lifestyle of more than 15 years since receiving a heart transplant September 29, 1989. Jacoby has served as commissioner for the Lone Star Conference since 1994.
