Conferences: The West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference basketball tournaments were broadcast March 2-5 to 11 radio stations throughout West Virginia. The WVIAC says the conference network is the largest at the Division II level. All 14 tournament games from the Charleston Civic Center were available through the joint production between the conference and smallcollegesportsweb.com. WVIAC Associate Commissioner Will Prewitt played a major role in putting together the network, which was aided by NCAA Division II conference grant funding.

Milestones: St. Cloud State University women's tennis coach Larry Sundby collected his 300th career win at the school February 19 with an 8-1 victory over Minnesota State Moorhead. After the victory, Sundy's record in 18 years at the institution stood at 300-121. He is faculty emeritus in St. Cloud State's accounting department ... St. Cloud State softball coach Paula U'Ren won her 300th victory at the school when the Huskies defeated Washburn University of Topeka February 18. After the win, her record at the school stood at 300-99. Under U'Ren's leadership, St. Cloud State has won three North Central Conference titles and has earned six bids to the play in the Division II Softball Championship.

Miscellaneous: Augusta State University catcher Sam Barth broke the NCAA Division II record for hits in consecutive games February 23 with a single against Paine College that extended his streak to 47 games. The streak ended in the next game against Francis Marion College when he went 0-for-4 with a walk and a hit by pitch. The 47 consecutive games broke the previous Division II record of 46 set by Lenior-Rhyne College's Craig Sizemore in 2001-02. "As soon as I hit it, I knew," Barth said of the historic hit. Barth ended last season by hitting in 34 consecutive games and continued the streak into this year. He led the Peach Belt Conference last year with a .400 average. Through March 3 of this year, he was hitting .380 with a team-leading 17 runs batted in for the Jaguars.
