Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field Championships: The Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee is seeking bids for the 2006 Division I Outdoor Track and Field Midwest Regional championships, to be held May 26-27, 2006. The facility must include a 400-meter outdoor track with a minimum of eight lanes, facilities for field events and practice and meeting space. About 750 student-athletes are expected to participate in the regional. An online facility evaluation and key contact forms are required. The host receives a $10,000 stipend from the NCAA and keeps ticket revenue. No proposed budget is required, and bids are due by June 10, 2005. * The committee also is seeking bids for the 2007 and 2008 Division I Outdoor Track and Field Regional Championships, to be held May 25-26, 2007, and May 30-31, 2008. Bids are open for all four regions: East, Mideast, Midwest and West. The facility must include a 400-meter outdoor track with a minimum of eight lanes, facilities for field events and practice and meeting space. About 700 to 1,100 student-athletes are expected to participate at each regional site. An online facility evaluation and key contact forms are required. The host receives a $10,000 stipend from the NCAA and keeps ticket revenue. No proposed budget is necessary, and bids are due by November 1, 2005. * In addition, the committee is seeking bids to host the 2007 and 2008 Division I Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships. The championships are held the second full weekend in March (Friday-Saturday). The facility must have a 200-meter banked indoor track, facilities for field events, practice facility and meeting space. About 540 student-athletes are expected to participate in each championship. There also will be a television broadcast on Saturday. Bids are due by June 10, 2005. For more information, contact Keanah Smith at ksmith@ncaa.org.
