CBS' "Championships of the NCAA" is among five sports shows nominated for a 2003-04 Sports Emmy Award. The season highlights show was nominated in the category of outstanding edited sports series/anthology.
CBS and the NCAA developed the seasonal shows, one for each of the fall, winter and spring championships seasons that airs highlights from each of the championships not receiving live coverage. The shows feature stories, highlights and behind-the-scenes footage from championships that previously had not received such attention.
Other nominations in the sports series/anthology category are HBO's "Legendary Nights," "NFL Presents" by ESPN and NFL Films, HBO's "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel" and ESPN Classic's "SportsCentury."
The program will be presented April 19 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
