Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championships

Dates and site: Principia hosts the nationals March 18-20 at the St. Peter's Rec-Plex in St. Peter's, Missouri.

Field: The maximum number of participants allowed is 225. All qualifiers who have met the "A" time standard will be admitted into the meet; those who have met the "B" time standard will be considered. No team is allowed more than 18 competitors.

2003 team champion: Kenyon.

Top team contenders: Kenyon, Johns Hopkins, Emory.

Championships notes: Kenyon won its seventh straight and 19th overall North Coast Athletic Conference championships, winning nine of the 20 events and posting 35 top-five finishes. Denison placed second. Marc Courtney-Brooks returns as two-time defending swimmer of the year. He set league records in the 100-yard freestyle, the 200-yard individually medley and the 200-yard freestyle during the NCACs. Kenyon also collected individual wins from senior Fernando Rodriguez and sophomore Travis Brennion. The conference crown was the Lords' 50th in the last 51 years ... Johns Hopkins is fresh from its win in the ECAC championships, where head coach George Kennedy was named the ECAC men's swimming coach of the year.
