Richard McGlynn, a veteran of the NCAA membership services staff, has been promoted to associate director of membership services and governance liaison to Division II.

McGlynn will replace Terri Steeb in his new role. Steeb became Division II director in October.

McGlynn joined the NCAA staff in 2001 as a student-athlete reinstatement representative. In 2002, he became an assistant director with the membership services staff.

In that role, McGlynn has served as liaison to the Division II Academic Requirements and Membership Committees. He also has been the conference contact for the Northeast 10, Sunshine State, Great Lakes Valley and Northern Sun Conferences, along with the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

Before joining the NCAA, McGlynn was commissioner of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. He also was legal specialist for the majority office of the New Jersey general assembly and legal specialist for the office of counsel to the governor of New Jersey.

McGlynn is a graduate of Florida Southern College. He has a law degree, with an emphasis in sports and entertainment law, from Seton Hall University.
