Honors Dinner emcee

Rece Davis, ESPN SportsCenter anchor and reporter, and host of ESPN's coverage of the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship, will serve as the emcee for the 2004 Honors Dinner January 11.

Davis joined ESPN in March 1995 as an ESPN2 SportSmash anchor, providing five-minute news and score reports throughout the network's nightly programming. He currently serves as studio host for ESPN's and ESPN2's coverage of college football and college basketball, including his duties as anchor and host of the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship. He has served as host of ESPN's and ESPN2's College Gameday Final since August 1999, and he also hosts College Gamenight, ESPN's daily college basketball news and highlights program. Davis also hosts Baseball Tonight and frequently anchors ESPN's SportsCenter.

Additionally, Davis' "Extra Point" commentaries are heard regularly on ESPN Radio, where he frequently serves as guest host for the Dan Patrick Show.

Previously, Davis hosted ESPN2's weekend RPM 2Night and Sunday morning RPM 2Day programs from 1997 to 1999, and ESPN2's NBA 2Night, the network's daily NBA highlights/news program from 1996 to 1997.

Before joining ESPN, Davis worked at WJRT-TV in Flint, Michigan, as a sports anchor/reporter from 1993 to 1995. He was a sports anchor and sports director at WRBL-TV in Columbus, Georgia, from 1988 to 1993 and a general assignment reporter for WCFT-TV in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, from 1987 to 1988. He also worked as a freelance television play-by-play announcer, studio host and radio announcer in select media outlets in Alabama from 1983 to 1993.

Davis graduated cum laude from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, in 1988 with a bachelor of arts degree in broadcast news and public affairs.
