Convention facts

When: January 10-12, 2004. Related events begin January 8 and conclude January 12.

Where: Nashville, Tennessee. All events will be conducted in the Gaylord Opryland Resort.

Projected attendance: As of mid-December, more than 1,800 delegates had registered. About 1,600 delegates attended the 2003 Convention in Anaheim, California, and about 1,700 attended the 2002 Convention in Indianapolis. The largest attendance since restructuring occurred in 1998, when just under 2,100 attended.

Number of proposals: Divisions II and III delegates will act on 72 proposals listed in the Official Notice (54 in Division II and 18 in Division III). The Divisions I, II and III Management Councils and presidential governing bodies also will meet in conjunction with the Convention.

Site: This will be the fifth NCAA Convention to be held in the Opryland facility. The resort previously hosted Conventions in 1985, 1988, 1991 and 1997, when 2,685 delegates attended the NCAA's largest Convention.

Division I Legislative Review: 8 a.m.-noon, Tennessee Ballroom C.

Association-wide Education Sessions: 12:30-3:15 p.m., Presidential Ballroom.

NCAA Delegates Reception: 6:30-9:30 p.m., Ryman Exhibit Hall B2-B3.

Sunday, January 11

Division I Issues Forum: 8:30 a.m.-noon, Governor's Ballroom.

Division III Reform Agenda Legislative Issues Forum: 8:30-11:30 a.m., Presidential Ballroom C-E.

Division II Educational Sessions: 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m., Governor's Ballroom and Presidential Ballroom A and B.

Association-wide Presidential Programming: 1:30-4 p.m., Tennessee Ballroom C.

Opening Business Session: 4:30-6 p.m., Delta Ballroom B-C

NCAA Honors Dinner: 7:30-9:30 p.m., Delta Ballroom A.

Monday, January 12

Division II Business Session: 8 a.m.-3 p.m., Governor's Ballroom.

Division III Business Session: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Presidential Ballroom C-E.

NCAA Executive Committee: 5:30-8:30 p.m., Tennessee Ballroom D.
