Coaches association names swim scholars for winter 2004

The Collegiate Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has announced its scholar-athlete team and individual awards for winter 2004.

The CSCAA is honoring 283 intercollegiate swimming teams from all divisions that have a combined grade-point average of 2.800 or higher. The CSCAA also is recognizing 327 individual swimmers and divers who participated in the 2004 NCAA championships and had GPAs of 3.500 or higher. Additionally, 177 individuals with GPAs of 3.500 or greater who provisionally qualified for the NCAA championships but who were not selected to participate are being recognized as honorable-mention academic all-Amer-icans.

This represents the most teams and individuals ever honored by the CSCAA.

Following are the teams among the 283 honored overall that posted combined GPAs of 3.400 or higher. Also listed are the individual award winners who posted perfect GPAs for winter 2004.
