Nominations for the 2003 NCAA Sportsmanship Award are due July 1.
The award recognizes acts of outstanding sportsmanship demonstrated by an NCAA student-athlete, administrator or team.
Though an award winner is not chosen each year, the Committee on Sportsmanship and Ethical Conduct believes strongly that many acts of sportsmanship that exemplify the ideals of respect, civility, fairness, honesty and responsibility take place each year.
The committee is looking to celebrate acts of sportsmanship that are beyond the norm.
Member institutions and conferences from all divisions are urged to submit nominations by going to the NCAA Web site at www.ncaa.org. Click on "education programs" and then "sportsmanship." Nomination guidelines and criteria are available for review. Winners will be announced September 1 and will be recognized at the NCAA Convention and Citizenship Through Sports Alliance annual awards banquet.

The Division I Women's Basketball Committee has narrowed the pool to four cities for consideration to host the 2008, 2009 and 2010 Women's Final Fours.
The cities with venues and hosts are:
Denver; Pepsi Center; University of Colorado, Boulder, and University of Denver.
San Antonio; Alamodome, University of Texas at San Antonio.
St. Louis; Edward Jones Dome or Savvis Center; Missouri Valley Conference.
Tampa, Florida; St. Pete Times Forum; University of South Florida.
The committee will review presentations from the four cities at its June 24-28 meeting and announce the selection of the three sites June 30. The four cities were selected from an initial pool of seven that were identified in December 2002.
