Milestones: It took 14 years of men's college basketball at Caldwell College for eight players to eclipse the 1,000-point mark for their career, but it took less than a month for the school to add three more student-athletes to that list. Three men's players -- seniors Sulaiman Muhammad, Paul Tonkovich and Michael Pero -- reached the plateau in a three-week period earlier this winter. Muhammad scored his 1,000th point January 23, Tonkovich did so two days later and Pero reached the milestone February 11. Also, on January 30, Caldwell women's basketball player Shenee Clarke hit the 1,000-point mark in the second half of Caldwell's 72-41 win over Teikyo Post University. "This has certainly been a special senior class. We have six seniors this year, and those guys have done a lot to put our program where it is today," said Caldwell men's basketball coach Mark Corino. Nicole Durnien-Amato, Caldwell's women's basketball coach, also praised Clarke, a junior. "We're very proud of all four student-athletes," she said. "Seeing Shenee reach 1,000 was a big moment for our entire team."

Miscellaneous: Pittsburg State University and Northwest Missouri State University have announced that they will play their 2003 football game in Arrowhead Stadium, home of the Kansas City Chiefs. This year's game will occur at 2 p.m. November 15 as the season finale for the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association rivals. Last year, a record crowd of 26,000 watched the teams play at Arrowhead.
