Sports sponsorship: The University of Montevallo has announced plans to add women's cross country as a varsity sport for the 2004-05 academic year.

Miscellaneous: The Northeast-10 Conference and the Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA) recently announced corporate-partner agreements with PrestoSports, a technology provider that is part of Lokitech. PrestoSports will provide a user-friendly Internet tool that will permit the Northeast-10 and the AHA to manage design, navigation and interactive content independently, efficiently and cost-effectively. "We look forward to our partnership with the Northeast-10 Conference," said Susan Knystautas, president of Lokitech. "As a premier Division II conference, they recognize the need for a software program that can showcase the Northeast-10 schools, as well as increase productivity and revenues." The AHA boasts nine charter members, including American International College, the U.S. Military Academy, Bentley College, Canisius College, the University of Connecticut, the College of the Holy Cross, Mercyhurst College, Quinnipiac University and Sacred Heart University.
