Nomination forms, updated committee rosters and vacancy information may be found online at www.ncaa.org under "Administration and Governance."

Division I

Division I candidates must be nominated by their institution's multisport conference. The Division I nomination form and Division I nominee information form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials must be sent to Sharon Tufano, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 317/917-6808).

Newly announced vacancies

The deadline for submission of nomination materials for the following vacancy is September 16, 2002.

Division I Field Hockey Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Jody Smith, former compliance coordinator at Wake Forest University, who has resigned from the committee. Smith's term was to begin September 1, 2002. The appointee must be an athletics administrator from the South region.

The deadline for submission of nomination materials for the following vacancies is September 10, 2002.

Division I Baseball Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Mitch Barnhart, former director of athletics at Oregon State University, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from a Division I-A institution in the West region. Preference will be given to Pacific-10 Conference schools.

Division I Men's Basketball Issues Committee: At its August meeting, the Division I Board of Directors established a new standing committee to be composed of 16 voting members, including eight members appointed by and representing Division I-A (one allocated for a current Division I-A head men's basketball coach or designated alternate coach); six members appointed by and representing Divisions I-AA and I-AAA (one allocated to a current Division I-AA or I-AAA head men's basketball coach or designated alternate coach) and two men's basketball student-athletes, one representing Division I-A and one representing Division I-AA or I-AAA.

Men's and Women's Fencing Committee: Two immediate Division I vacancies. Both appointees must represent women's interests. One appointee must be from the Northeast region and one must be from the Middle Atlantic/South region.

Men's Gymnastics Committee: One interim Division I vacancy. The appointee will replace Vanessa Abell, former senior woman administrator at the Eastern College Athletic Conference, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from either Division I-AA or I-AAA.

Division I Women's Rowing Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Jo-Ann Nester, former associate director of athletics at Dartmouth College, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be an athletics administrator.

The deadline for submission of nominations materials for the following vacancy is September 3, 2002.

Division I Wrestling Committee: One September 2002 vacancy. The appointee preferably will be a coach from the West region.

Division II

Division II individuals may be nominated by peers. Self-nominations also are accepted in Division II. A Division II nomination form and Division II nominee information form must be completed for each nominee and each separate committee. Nomination materials must be sent to Sharon Tufano, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 317/917-6808).

Division II Men's Soccer Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Jim Naumovich, commissioner of Great Lakes Valley Conference, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be an athletics administrator from the Central region. Eligible independent institutions are Indiana University-Purdue University, Fort Wayne; Truman State University; Rockhurst University; Southwest Baptist University; and Oakland City University. Eligible conferences are the Great Lakes Valley, Heartland and the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.

Division II Women's Soccer Committee: Two immediate vacancies. One appointee must be from the Far West region and one must be from the Midwest region. One of the appointees must be an athletics administrator. Eligible independent institutions are Montana State University-Billings, Dallas Baptist University and Texas Lutheran University. Eligible conferences are the California Collegiate Athletic, Great Northwest Athletic, Heartland, Lone Star and Rocky Mountain Athletic.

Division II Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee: One immediate vacancy. The appointee must be an athletics administrator from the South or East region. Preference will be given to female nominees. Eligible independent institutions are the University of North Florida; University of Alabama, Huntsville; Kennesaw State University; Savannah State University; State University of West Georgia; Spelman College; University of Pittsburgh, Johnstown; and Westminster College (Pennsylvania). Eligible conferences are the Gulf South, Peach Belt, Southern Intercollegiate Athletic, Eastern College Athletic, Pennsylvania State Athletic and West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic.

Division III

Division III individuals may be nominated by peers. Self-nominations also are accepted in Division III. A Division III nominee information form must be completed for each nominee and each separate committee. The deadline for submission of nomination materials for the following vacancies is September 10, 2002.

Division III Baseball Committee: One interim vacancy. The appointee will replace Joseph Tonelli, former director of athletics at Albertus Magnus College, who has resigned from the committee. Tonelli's term was to begin September 1, 2002. The appointee must be an athletics administrator from the New England region.

Division III Women's Softball Committee: Three interim vacancies. The appointees will replace Debra Steward, former senior woman administrator at the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire; Sandra Moore, former director of athletics at the State University College at Oswego; and Karen Baird, former softball coach at Albion College, who have resigned from the committee. One appointee must be from the Great Lakes region, one must be from the Central region and one must be from the Northeast region. One of the appointees must be an athletics administrator.
