Division I

Division I candidates must be nominated by their institution's multisport conference. A Division I nomination form and Division I nominee information form must be completed for each nominee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Lori L. Braa, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 317/917-6808).

Newly announced vacancies

The searches to fill vacancies on the following committees are being reopened. Terms will begin September 1, 2002, and the appointments will be approved by the Division I Championship/Competition Cabinet's administrative committee. The deadline for submission of nomination materials for the these vacancies is March 1, 2002.

Men's and Women's Fencing Committee: Two vacancies. Both appointees must represent women's interests and at least one appointee must be an athletics administrator. One appointee must be from the Northeast region and one must be from the Mid Atlantic or South regions.

Division I Field Hockey Committee: Two vacancies. One appointee must be from the Northeast region and one must be from the South. Only one of the two appointees may be from Division I-A. The appointees may be either a coach or an athletics administrator. (Nominees already submitted for this vacancy remain under consideration.)

Division I Men's Lacrosse Committee: Two vacancies. One appointee must be from the West region and one may be from any region. One appointee should be a coach. Nominees may be from any subdivision.

Men's and Women's Rifle Committee: One vacancy. The appointee will replace Tim Dillon, Canisius College, who is leaving the committee September 1, 2002. The appointee must be an athletics administrator from any subdivision.

Olympic Sports Liaison Committee: One vacancy. There are no restrictions for this appointment, and nominees from all subdivisions are eligible.

Division III

Division III individuals may be nominated by peers. Self-nominations also are accepted in Division III. A Division III nominee information form must be completed for each nominee and each separate committee. Nomination materials are to be sent to Lori L. Braa, committee coordinator, at the national office (fax 317/917-6808).

Previously listed vacancies

The following (except where noted) are for terms beginning September 1, 2002. The deadline for submission of nomination materials for the these vacancies is March 1, 2002.

Division III Field Hockey Committee: One vacancy. The appointee must be from the Great Lakes region and must be an athletics administrator. The appointee may not be from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Division III Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Committee: Two vacancies. One appointee must be from the South region and one must be from the Midwest region. One must represent men's interests and one must represent women's interests. One appointee must be an athletics administrator. The appointees may not be from the Old Dominion or the Presidents' Athletic Conferences.

Division III Men's and Women's Tennis Committee: One vacancy. The appointee must be from the Central region and represent men's interests. The appointee may not be from the Midwest Conference.

Division III Men's and Women's Track and Field Committee: One immediate vacancy. The appointee will replace Susan Larkin, John Jay College, who has resigned from the committee. The appointee must be a female athletics administrator from the Atlantic region and represent women's interests.

Men's Basketball Rules Committee: One Division III vacancy. The appointee must be a coach from Region 3. (Regions can be found on page 25 of the Division III Manual). The appointee may not be from the American Southwest, Ohio Athletic or State University of New York Athletic Conferences.
