Conferences: The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced that Chatham College and Medaille College have been accepted into the conference as new Division III members. With the additions, ECAC membership increases to 315 colleges. Chatham also competes in the Atlantic Women's Colleges Conference. Medaille, a Division III provisional member, also competes in the North Eastern Collegiate Volleyball Conference ... The Skyline Conference has announced that State University of New York at Farmingdale, a provisional Division III member, has been accepted into the conference, as has Centenary College (New Jersey). Those additions bring the number of schools in the Skyline Conference to 11. <

Milestones: Jim Smith, head men's basketball coach at St. John's University (Minnesota), became just the fifth coach in men's Division III basketball history to win 600 career games. Smith is the winningest coach in Minnesota collegiate basketball history, and he also ranks second for most victories among all active Division III men's basketball coaches. Smith, who also coached his 1,000th career game this season, has led his teams to 26 winning seasons, seven Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) titles, five MIAC playoff titles and seven trips to the NCAA Division III playoffs ... Steve Larson, head men's basketball coach at Edgewood College, picked up his 300th win this season. Larson has led the Eagles to 16 consecutive winning seasons and five conference championships ... Jim Walker, head men's basketball coach at Moravian College, notched his 300th victory this season, becoming just the second Moravian coach to earn 300 victories in one sport at the school ... John Elton, head wrestling coach at St. John's University (Minnesota), reached his 250th career dual meet win this year, which was his 21st season with the Johnnies ... Mark Turner, head women's basketball coach at Transylvania University, earned his 250th career victory this season ... Carl Tebon, head baseball coach at Loras College, picked up his 200th career win last month with the Duhawks' 11-8 victory over Edgewood College ... Kelley Anderson, head softball coach at Transylvania, notched her 100th career win last month. Anderson and the Pioneers' assistant coach Darrell Hunter were named Great Lakes Region coaching staff of the year by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association last year after leading the Pioneers to a 38-5-1 record, the best in school history ... Randy Steward, head wrestling coach at Loras College, notched his 100th career dual meet victory this year. Steward's teams have included two national champions, 17 all-Americans, 25 national qualifiers, 10 conference champions and three Iowa Conference "Outstanding Wrestler" awardees.

Miscellaneous: The Division III Commissioners Association honored Dick Rasmussen, executive secretary of the University Athletic Association, with its first Meritorious Service Award. "Dick Rasmussen has had as significant and positive impact on Division III as any individual in the profession over the last 10 years," said Sheila Wallace-Kovalchik, past president of the association. "His leadership on the Management Council, and particularly the Division III Membership Committee, has been significant."
