The Lords of Kenyon were at it again at the 2002 Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championships. With its usual arsenal of talent, Kenyon won its 23rd consecutive title with 589 points, 187 better than second-place Johns Hopkins. Emory (358) was a close third, while Carnegie Mellon (269) and Hope (262) completed the top five.

Marc Courtney-Brooks had a breakout championship, earning two individual titles and contributing to four relay wins. Brooks' teammates Read Boon and Michael Bonomo repeated their wins from a year ago in the 200- and 1,650-yard freestyles, respectively. Kenyon's other title winners were Leandro Monteiro (200-yard backstroke) and Carlos Vega (200-yard butterfly). The meet took place March 21-23 at Miami University (Ohio).

Hope's Joshua Boss once again ruled both breaststroke events. He solidified his place in the records book with his fourth consecutive title in the 200-yard event and his seventh national championship overall.

Other fine performances came from Kevin Wang of Whitworth in the 400-yard individual medley and Mount Union's Eddie Singleton in the 50-yard freestyle. In diving, two new faces emerged on the podiums. Gabe Corteum of St. Olaf took the one-meter event, while Kalamazoo's Anthony Holt won the three-meter. Last year's dual champion, Derek Chicarilli of Middlebury, finished third and second, respectively, in the one- and three-meter events.
