Milestones: Ann Ruley, women's basketball coach at North Dakota State, won her 550th game recently when the Bison defeated St. Cloud State University, 80-73. "It didn't come easy, but it shows what depth can do," said Ruley, who has guided the Bison to five NCAA Division II championships and coached 12 all-Americans.

"Reaching a milestone like this makes me think of all the former players we've had in the program over the past 23 years. The athletes are the ones out there getting it done and we're getting all the credit." Ruley, who has a 550-138 record in 23 seasons at North Dakota State, became just the second active Division II women's basketball coach to reach the milestone, joining Bentley College's Barbara Stevens ... Wingate University's women's basketball team won the 500th game in school's history as a four-year institution when it topped West Virginia State University November 30. Through that game, Wingate stood 500-187 in 24 years of competition ... Indiana University of Pennsylvania women's basketball coach Sandy Thomas earned her 100th career victory in Indiana's 74-65 win over Clarion University of Pennsylvania on January 19. Thomas has a six-year record of 100-55, all at Indiana, and her winning percentage of .645 is the highest in school history.
