The Division II Legislation Committee issued the following interpretation:

Recruiting/Men's Basketball

1. Coaches' Attendance at 2002 Men's World Basketball Championships. The Interpretations Subcommittee of the Division II Legislation Committee determined that it is permissible for a coach to attend the Men's and Women's World Basketball Championships conducted outside a contact or evaluation period, provided no recruiting activities occur.
