Telephone Conference No. 11
May 15, 2002

Acting for the Division I Management Council, the Division I Academics/Eligibility/Compliance Cabinet Subcommittee on Legislative Review/Interpretations issued the following interpretation: \

Recruiting/Volleyball

Off-Campus Recruiter -- Women's Volleyball. In the sport of women's volleyball, any coach's involvement with a local sports club outside a contact/evaluation period must be included in the institution's 80 evaluation days. Further, an institution must count an evaluation day for each coach who is involved on a given day with a local sports club outside a contact/evaluation period. Finally, the subcommittee noted that a coach involved with a local sports club (either during or outside a contact/evaluation period) is not included in the permissible number of coaches who may recruit off campus at any one time.
