Acting for the Division I Management Council, the Division I Academics/Eligibility/Compliance Cabinet Subcommittee on Legislative Review/Interpretations issued the following interpretation:

Transfers/Discontinued Academic Program Exception

Student-Athlete Transferring Before Designating Major Course of Study. There is no authority under current legislation to permit an institution to use the discontinued academic program transfer exception when an institution has announced its intention to discontinue an academic program and a student-athlete has not designated the degree program at the time of transfer.
